10 Stunning Insta Interiors Accounts You’re Not Following Yet

Oh, I do love an interiors instagram account. I lose hours – literally hours – every week (*cough* day *cough*) scrolling through my favourite stylists, mags and hashtags – #styleitdark, anyone? #nestandthrive? Oh, and #howyouhome consistently throws up some real beauties. Anyway, I digress – suffice to say, I think Instagram seems to be the natural home of Elle Deco fans. I feel like I’ve found my tribe – and their hashtag is #interiorlovers.

But there’s only so much out-there inspiration a girl and her bank account can take. While it might be tempting to scroll through palatial pads decorated at eye-watering cost, sometimes I like my inspo to be a little more…well, attainable. I live in a village in North Yorkshire and my home is small – but perfectly formed 😉 A sprawling Texan ranch decked out in natural hardwoods and elaborate pendant light fittings *might* be gorgeous, but it simply isn’t an achievable look for my humble home.

(My humble home )

So for this blog post I’ve decided to highlight my Top 10 up-and-coming interiors accounts. They might not have celebrity-sized followings *just* yet, but their feeds are full of passion and potential – and interiors gorgeousness, obviously. And guess what? They’re all Northern. FIST BUMP! Ready? Let’s go!

@beautifulhomesinthenorth – OK, so Katie and Karen DO have a sizeable insta following – 18.7k at the time of writing – but I had to include them as they’re a relatively recent find for me and their feed is to DIE for. They post images from their magazine photoshoots in stunning Northern houses as well as sneak peeks from their own (effortlessly stylish, of course) homes. Chic to quirky, bold to bare – it’s all up there on @beautifulhomesinthenorth and it’s *all* stunning.

@greenflamingo_anna – Shipley, West Yorkshire. Like plants? Well you’ll LOVE Anna’s feed. Cacti, succuluents, monsteras – if it’s green and it grows, she’s got it. Her lovely little home is full of character, period features, pictures and funky textiles and her captions are super-sweet. I’m a big fan.

@the_yorkshire_homestead – Yorkshire. Wendy lives The Good Life in a gorgeous Georgian pad complete with chickens, beehives, open fireplaces and a staircase I just wouldn’t be able to stop myself sliding down every morning. AND she looks like a model. AND, as if her own interiors content wasn’t inspiring enough, she also co-hosts @newinteriorsontheblock – an account with its very own hashtag (#newinteriorsontheblock, as if you couldn’t guess) sharing the very best in home style and design from new/under 1k interior accounts. Jeez, if she didn’t seem like such a natural, lovely person I’d have to hate her.

@houseofharwoodandrose – Claire has done up her Victorian home in Whitley Bay to perfection – and now she’s selling up and starting again on a 1960s fixer upper. If her current home is anything to go by – pink front door, Green Smoke walls, tiled hallway of dreams – it’s going to get very exciting.

@laura_epitome_styling – Laura – interior designer and stylist – has won awards for her work, so prepare yourself for some serious eye candy. Her dreamy Yorkshire home is a mix of traditional and contemporary style, with exposed brick walls and range style oven offset by modern twists like wire shelving and **that** La Redoute rug.

@upcycledmill – Natalie blogs about sustainability, upcycles everything she can lay her hands on and uses her little mill house as a shopfront for her homemade wares. Seen enough Farrow & Ball Downpipe to last you a lifetime? Looking for something a bit – well, different? I have three words: banana palm wallpaper. You’re welcome.

@the_idle_hands – West Yorkshire. Sandra’s bio says that her Victorian house “currently looks a bit like your eccentric nana lived in it (intentional)”. She’s also got 24.4K followers, so she’s not exactly a secret. However, take a look at *that* stripy stair runner,  *that* duck egg blue velvet studded pouffe and *that* sunshine yellow bathtub and you’ll understand.

@simply.weekend – Yorkshire. Phoebe is renovating an 18th century coach house and her feed is all about the features, flowers and a devilishly handsome schnauzer. I wish my home had one tenth of the serenity and calm that seems to spill from every photo on her grid.

@whiteandwooddecor – Scandi, boho, monochrome styling with the odd splash of colour – green, navy blue, gold and grey. Vanessa makes wooden decor – shelfie signs, pictures etc – for weddings, homes and kids, and showcases them in her effortlessly stylish Lancashire home. Her recent kitchen renovation (or ‘tart up’, as she calls is) is #goals.

@little_house_in_yorkshire – This 1930s semi is such a beauty – unlike a lot of interiors accounts which take themselves waaaaay too seriously, this lady isn’t afraid to experiment with colours and styles. Think baby blue fridge, cheeky neon signs and mid-century modern touches. And she’s new – really new! Only 133 posts and nearly 5,000 followers already. You can say you heard it here first 🙂

What’s your favourite instagram interiors account? I’m always on the lookout for more inspiration. Do share in the comments!
